This was the first reloading press I ever owned. Bought it 13 years ago from MidwayUSA in a package deal that Lee had at that time, which included the book “Modern Reloading” and this little press. I reloaded my first 1,000 rounds–first 500 rounds of .357 Magnum, then 500 rounds of .45 Colt–on this press. Since then, I’ve also bought the Classic Turret Press and two Pro 1000 presses, and those are what I use for most reloading nowadays, for increased production purposes. However, I still have this little Lee Reloader Press on my bench, and I still use it not just for initial load development, but now primarily for sizing my cast bullets (cast with Lee 6-cavity moulds, BTW). Since virtually all of my handgun shooting is done with my cast bullets, this little press continues to see a lot of use. It has *WELL* over 100,000 pulls of the handle. After all that usage, it remains pretty tight. A few drops of motor oil every now and again is enough to lubricate the ram. A drop or two on each hinge point is also a good idea, and this is true about any press. Either this or the Breech-Lock Challenger press is a fine single-stage press not only to get started with, but also for general-purpose reloading. Either press will do rifle rounds up to and including the Weatherby Magnums, but I think this press is best suited for .30-06-length and shorter cartridges, unless you’re neck-sizing. Anyway, this was a very wise purchase 13 years ago, and it remains one today.

I have 5 of these in a row and have loaded thousands of rounds from 9mm to 300WM. Someone on youtube said this is the little red press that wishes it was blue. I disagree…… My little red chevys dont want to be Lamborghinis. They are quite happy pushing out fine ammo.
